Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia were once part of the Malay Archipelago. So whether we are Banjar, Bugis, Mindanao, Javanese, Sundanese, Boyanese, Acehnese and the likes, we are all from Rumpun Melayu. Chinese came from China, Indian from India, but the Malays, we came from the Malay Archipelago - get it.

So even if our ancestors were from Indonesia and settle down in Malaysia, we are the natives of this area. So this woman from gerakan better get her facts right. The fact remains that the Malays are the natives of the Malay Archipelago, which Malaysia was once a part of. That history cannot be changed.
